Motivation to work is essential to be successful in any career. Motivation is the drive to get things done. One is on the go all the time. The desire to complete a task on hand must be there to achieve substantial results.
Every employer looks for a motivated staff. Even actors and actresses are motivated to perform well. Athletes have to win the race. Without motivation they cannot win the race.
Motivation helps a person to recover from ill-health. Recovery from surgery can be faster if a patient is motivated to get well soon. The thought of recovery can make a sick person face his or disease with boldness.
Not only adults need to be motivated, but children as well. Motivation is indeed essential be a winner and a go-getter. Monotony can be overcome if one is motivated.
Those who have attained fame in life have been motivated to reach their goals and achieve what they desired most. Martin Luther King wanted to eradicate discrimination. against the Blacks and he was motivated to work towards that goal. Mahatma Gandhi wanted freedom for India and he worked towards that end. He was motivated by the concept of self-determination for India and being subservient to the British.

Age does play an important role in starting a venture. Many successful entrepreneurs began early in life and gained experience as they went along. Some people begin their ventures a bit late after having saved some money to invest. Anger is the worst emotion that one can express. It puts off people. How irritating a given situation maybe, many people control their anger, particularly in public, as they do not want to lower their self-image.
Anger is a negative emotion. It can do much physical as well psychological damage to our body system. When we are angry, our blood pressure goes up and obviously our heart has to pump more blood to the brain. Psychologically, we are in an irritable mood and come across as a foul-mouthed person.
To be successful in our professional dealings we often have to control our emotions, particularly our temper. For example, a salesman has to do a lot of convincing talk and as the customer may be difficult to handle. He or she may get irritated and might feel like expressing displeasure towards the customer. Nevertheless, the sales person has to control his or her temper at all cost or else he or she may lose out on the customer.
Even diplomats have to exercise restraint over their temper in their dealings. They have to put across messages in a charming manner without offending the other person, even if they hate the person.

We live in a competitive world now. Everywhere there is competition. Even countries are competing with each other at various levels. So, it is but natural, that at workplace also one faces competition.

It is not easy to be a winner. It requires much time and effort. One has to prepare to be a winner. Reaching your set targets and goals require the will to reach them. Many successful people have worked hard to reach the top. It is a rough ride of course.
Many successful ventures have been completed on account of sustained efforts. Even in the sports and adventure fields, persistent efforts have permitted people to reach the zenith. Climbing Mount Everest was a difficult and dangerous task, but the climbers were winners in scaling it.
One has to be physically as well as psychologically prepared to be a winner in a given situation. For example, in sports one has to physically and psychologically prepare oneself to win the match. A boxer has to practice hard before hand itself and also be psychologically in good shape. His or her confidence levels have to be high before the match.
